4th Annual Penguin Dig 23 South Kingstown, RI

It is a free event, open to the public, where each participant must bring a $20 or more metal detecting related gift to the event. In return, they will receive someone else's gift in a raffle style fashion. Everyone leaves with a gift. Also unique about the event is, everything seeded is donated by the detecting community. We received over 100 packages last year and were able to plant over 600 silver coins among so many other great coins and relics.  We hold a 50/50 to pay for morning refreshments and a free lunch is provided to everyone. Hotdogs, chips and a water. All donated.  More details at our website.
